Helping Ukrainian children at our school.

 

SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN OF UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

since March until July 2022

Thousands of the Ukrainian refugees are fleeing the war. Many of them, including children of all ages, are making their way and finding safety in our town, Pribram. These children are deprived of their basic rights and it breaks our heart to see them in shock, lost and emotionally exhausted after having to leave their homes under such dramatic and sudden circumstances. 

We have accepted over  40 children between age 3-11 years into our Nursery and Primary School.

New children are coming every day.

 We have two classes for refugee children.

We help the children to adapt to the new environment and life in the Czech Republic. It is also important to make them feel save and to prepare them to successfully enter the Czech educational system in September 2022.

Therefore, we are going to provide:

• psychological help, which is vital for some of the children - our child psychologist Vitaliny K. speaks Ukrainian.

• Czech courses for all Ukranian children can enroll in Czech schools from September 2022.

• Teaching somin Ukrainian, and some English

• Singing songs and having fun in Ukrainian, Czech and English

We will do everything in our power to offer these children stability and a safe environment in our school as well as hope for their future - something they have been so harshly deprived of.

HELP FOR UKRAINIAN REFUGEES - ADULTS

• psychological help, our adult ukranian psychologist Tetiana P. provides support for mothers who fled the war. A

• Czech courses for Ukranian refugees take place twice a week:

Monday and Thursday 9:00-10:00

Monday and Thursday 10:30-12:00

YOUR HELP

Welcoming the refugee children in need, we may triple the number of children in our school.

While we hope to take in as many as possible and provide for each child adequately, this puts an enormous pressure on all our resources. The existence of our school depends on school fees, this of which cannot be expected from refugee parents given the current situation.  

That is why we are hoping for your help and kindness.

If you feel you are able to support our efforts in providing for these refugee children,

1) Monthly scholarship fee : 260 € / child

We welcome any sponsors and partners who would be able to defray school fees to support Ukrainian children long term. We expect that the deteriorating situation in Ukraine will not be resolved within days.  With this fee we can pay all monthly costs for a child including all day board (breakfast, lunch and two snacks), books and study material. This is a longer-term commitment and would be greatly appreciated! If this is an option you would like to commit to or know more about, please contact us.

2) One off donation:

To be able to provide support to Ukrainian Children, we need to urgently re-equip our school with tables, chairs, stationary, books (Czech, Ukrainian and English) and other necessary school equipment and supplies. We also need to fund operating costs, food for the children and teachers. We wish to partially reward Ukrainian teachers, Czech volunteers, interpreters and child psychologists, all of which are important in helping these refugee children. Your kind contribution goes towards the wellbeing of all the children we will be opening All Stars School to. No amount is too small as we all work together in building a safe space for these children.
